Crystal Jade Group is a Singaporen restaurant group began 16 years ago. Crystal Jade open their first Hong Kong style Cantonese restaurant in 1991. They have now diversified it's product lines to Shanghainese, Teochew, Korean, Hong Kong, Cantonese dim sum, steamboat, and even pastry and bread. Crystal Jade also has different restaurant type to cater different product line, including Crystal Jade Kitchen, Crystal Jade Steamboat Kitchen, Crystal Jade Golden Palace, Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao, Crystal Jade Cakery, Crystal Jade Ginseng Chicken, C-Jade Express and others that I'm not aware of. Most of these Crystal Jade group of restaurants can be found in Orchard Road, Singapore.

C-Jade Express Restaurant is one of the latest concept from Crystal Jade, the first C-Jade Express open in Wisma Atria, Orchard Rd on November 2005, the second has open in Mid Valley Magamall in December 2005. There are three type of cuisine available in C-Jade Express, i.e. Chinese, Korean and Japanese. You can find some similiarity to Hong Kong Cafe & Restaurant which popular in Malaysia these day (something like Kim Gary).

C-Jade Express is the second Crystal Jade Restaurant in Malaysia, the first one is Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao at Lot 10.

I managed to pay C-Jade Express a visit after it opened for 5 4 months+.

Roasted duck
(per serving: RM14, Half bird: RM25, Whole: RM50)

Roadted duck is one of the C-Jade express popular dish. I order half bird due to their popularity.. sigh, I put too much expectation and end up with disappointment, it's just taste like a normal roasted duck, nothing fancy. I think it's popular because everyone judge by the look, it look so nice when it hang on the display.

Roasted Pork is a nice one, the pork skin is crispy, fat and meat are distributed in clear layers and the meat is not too dry.

Roasted Pork
(RM13.80)

Fish cutlet in hot plate
(served witih borsch soup & soft drink, RM14.80)
Just normal fried white fish fillet with tomato sauce.

Minced beef Korean stone rice
(served with kim chi & soft drink, RM14.80)

Korean food is another cuisine that I'm not familiar with. The minced beef rice is ok for me, but I don't know why they need to serve it in stone bowl. To keep warm? or just for the sake of displaying.

I think we all put too much expectation to Crystal Jade.. They have over 70 items in the menu.. I still want to believe some are nice.. at least the roasted pork is nice for me..
I'll revisit and try the honey spare rib and honey pork :D
