Flash flood hit my car :(

Monday, August 28, 2006

Last friday, KL flash flood again. I'm one of the victim this time. Flooding at the open air car park where I park my car. It's damn shit, look, The water level is up to my dashboard meter level! My colleague's Altis is worse than this.

I don't know how much will this cost me yet, definitely going to hurt my wallet. Can somebody tell me if I can sue the car park management or Mayor of Kuala Lumpur and how?

I think you can't sue the car park management, already stated on most parking lot to park at your own risk.

Sue the mayor and DBKL? Maybe you will be the first person. Maybe you will get reimbursement for the cost of fixing your car.

Best is ask your boss to pay for the damages lah.. :P

The engine already soak, luckily I didn't not try to start it, otherwise will make it worse.

I called the insurance company to arrange a tow truck. Tow the car back to Klang.

U can't claim from the parking management and also from the insurance. BTW where u park ur car ah? It will be a "black spot" for me.
In my area, only tree will fail so far no flood la...but my company help to paid 50% of the cost... So good right... but only for one time... if next time still got tree fail and car kena.. it really park at our own RISK!!

anonymous: My boss ask me how much does that cost me, hope he would subsidize some (or subsidizemy new car :p)? I dunno how much will that cost me yet..

I park my car at the open air car park behind of the Prudential building, Jln Sultan Ismail, next to Crow Regency service apartment at beach club area.

jackson: Err.. I dont' think so, can't blame the god entirely, there is a service apartment construction besides the car park, I believe it spoil the drainage and car park management didn't bother to fix it.

Aiks - very painful. Think those open air carparks are mainly fly by night operators so you won't get much too if you sue them. Are the insurance co willing to pay?

Hey fren, do understand how u felt. I've been there before also. But I was lucky enough that my car was flooded right before my cushion seat level.

FYI, I being charged for RM500 for the cost of cleaning/drying the carpet, car service and also putting a new set of car alarm since is spoilt as well.
