Vietnamese @ Co Do, Mid Valley
Monday, March 26, 2007

CỐDỐ is a Vietnamese restaurant located in 3rd floor, mid valley, on top of the Little Vietnam. The restaurant run by the same owner of Little Vietnam, with serve of different food menu. Some items might be duplicate but CoDo emphasis on Vietnamese Dim Sum.
I went there some time ago, I didn't order the dim sum, instead I their cold vermicelli grilled set. They claim to be authentic Vietnamese and it's a "must try" item. RM35++ with free Ice Lime Tea, enough for 2 person. The set are cold vermicelli, raw bean sprout salad, cucumber, tomato, basil leave, pickles, spring roll, chicken ham, chicken meat skewer, fish cake, Chargrilled Lemongrass beef (or chicken). I like the grilled beef, it's well marinated, grill garnish with sesame seed. The beef taste sweet and tender with mild lemongrass taste. To eat, take some vermicelli to your bowl, and mix with the salad, fish cake and the rest, then add some grinded peanuts, deep fried shallots and put add a lot of fish sauce (taste sweet). With no surprise, this is Vietnamese.
I've been missing from blog space for more than a month, not even returning to my blog to reply the comments left by you. Sorry for some of you who keep coming back to my blog to check new posts. I was running a project for since the last 2 months, it's hard to stay sane under such awful pressure. In fact the mental stress has disrupted my hormones system, I"m currently under medication and need to continue for the next 4~6 months. I couldn't eat out that often...

My Thai @ Starhill Galary
Monday, April 17, 2006
My former boss recommended My Thai after she read the post for Bangkok Jam, thanks for it. I love thai food, so I ask colleagues to go My Thai with me after work.
Starhill, probably is the most luxury shopping center in Kuala Lumpur. Interior design is great, things are expensive and security is tight. You can find all the high price fashion here, including Patek Philippe watches, Louis Vuitton, DKNY, KENZO and etc. Starhill always give people the feeling of prestigious. This really not a place for me, I can't afford any of the brand above :(
The Feast Village consist of 13 restaurants, each restaurant has it's own unique theme. However you can dine in Thai Restaurant and order food from mediterranean restaurant and end with one bill. hmm.. suddenly thought of food court..

My Thai is located at Feast Village in Starhill Galary, nice ambient. The light is dim in feast floor, it create a romance and quiet dining environment.. I wonder if people easier to fall in love in this kind of place?

Let's look at what we had:

Spicy and sour clear soup with river prawn and herbs

Spicy and sour coconut soup with chicken and herbs

Green curry with chicken and eggplant

Soft shelf crab in black pepper style

Stir-fried morning glory with oyster sauce and soya bean

Steamed jasmine rice
wtf, 3 bucks for steam rice?

Sticky rice in coconut milk and mango

Crispy water chestnut in coconut milk with ice

Steam banana in coconut milk
You can see, foods are pricy here, it taste good though. However Bangkok Jam taste better. I don't mind to pay more $$$ for better food, paying more than Bangkok Jam and get something worse is not wise..

Friday Dinner @ Bangkok Jam Thai Restaurant
Sunday, March 19, 2006
Friday after work, colleagues and I went to Bangkok Jam Thai @ Low Yat for dinner. Bangkok Jam is TY's favorite Thai restaurant, since he is so familiar with this place so he is volunteer to order the foods. This is what we had:

This is the first time I dine in Bangkok Jam. I must say I like the food, TY make the right recommendation! The only complain I have is serving size too small.. as you can see from the photos..
